Darjeeling FTGFOP 1 Second Flush
Darjeeling FTGFOP 1 Second Flush — black tea by Alveus. Price per 100 g.
Darjeeling grows in the Himalayan foothills at over fifteen hundred metres. Cold nights slow the leaf’s development, and the cup gains the muscatel-floral note that has earned this tea the name the champagne of teas.
FTGFOP is the top leaf grade: whole leaf with a high proportion of tips (unopened buds).
A single-origin tea: no flavourings, no additives — just the leaf.
Black tea contains a noticeable amount of caffeine — it is a morning and daytime drink.
Preparation: 12–15 g per litre, 3–5 minutes, water at 100 °C. Fully oxidised leaf needs boiling water: only then does the body of the infusion develop. Steeping beyond five minutes adds an astringent dryness.
The proportions are a starting point, not a rule: adjust them by up to 20 % to suit your water and your taste.
Suitable both for the retail shelf and for a venue’s tea list: a recognisable profile, a predictable result in the cup, consistent quality from batch to batch.
Storage: in a tightly sealed opaque container, away from light, moisture and strong odours. Tea readily absorbs foreign aromas, so it should not be kept next to spices or coffee.
Packaging: sold loose, the price is given per 100 g. Alveus supplier code — 81733.
The supplier is Alveus (Germany), one of Europe’s largest tea houses. Packing and dispatch from the Verdamare warehouse.
